What I Learned Along the Way

The way of water – day five

Petra Peyer · 2 min read

When you spend eight days breathing together, you start to feel like you’ve known each other for years.

When you spend 8 days with a group of 12 people breathing together every day, sharing, listening, learning, teaching, being…

You reach something.
Something new.
Something old.
You start to feel like you’ve known each other for years.
For you learn about the parts that have been hidden … for life.

The shame. The guilt. Playing small. Hiding. Not taking space. Putting others first.
The stories repeat… the responses repeat. The shame, the guilt, its presence.
The stories we tell ourselves.
That others told us.
The lies.

Hiding our truth.
Hiding who we truly are.
All the layers we carry.
To hide.
Armors.

Masks.
Games.
The truth is beneath.
WHO am I?
Beneath it all.

All those lies.
The magnificent magical baby.
We come to this world as a magic. Miracle.
Pure.
Innocent.

With the first breath.
Than comes the first shake.
The first bum slap… make the baby cry… show us it’s alive.
And life starts to form itself.
By the measures of the world around.

By the expectations.
The tests.
The proof … of…
The journey is there.
Here.

It begins.
We go back to her.
Back to the water.
Back to the womb.
Back to the birth.

It is a deep deep journey.
Ones you enter… you can’t change.
You don’t want to.

And those called upon this journey, walking it, breathing, diving in, feeling… the pain the sorrow the sadness the tears the joy the laughter the beauty the smile

… will never return the same.
For they can’t.
We can’t.
We return more free again.
Again and again.

I AM the unique miracle on Earth.
